Folks, we are having second thoughts about installing the CarPC in the A4.
Will need to think about it. I installed the Centrafuse v2 and the method of adding new folders escapes me. I had to delete the config files and force it to reconfigure. It works great, though I can’t test the bluetooth stuff through Parallels, but the rest of it is kool.
Will decide over the next few wks.
Well, I am off to work. Will be there a bit late today

Sweet, the new month has arrived, now is the time for plans and taking action.
First off: The New Radio for the A4 (2007 B7). I was going to buy a factory radio for the car, but now, I will build another one, just as I did for the Jetta (Bora).
What I might be losing with this addition:
- iPod Integration
- Bluetooth Integration
- Steering Wheel Controls
- Technology Package Display
We will have to find a way to get these things working as that was the only reason I bought the car in the first place.
Second on the agenda, is the web page for the new business we are about to undertake. Some moon lighting, well more of it at least. I am still sourcing some needed components for this to fly, but it is pretty much tested and ready to go, but the nice package needs to be assembled.
Thirdly, have some more fun. We have been working non-stop, and the fun metre is currently at the zero or even minus one mark.
Well folks, let us hope this month is as great as I expect it to be.

Been at home all day, got a call from the office twice and felt mad sleepy after failing to eat the breakfast.
Now I am thinking I should start on some sort of project to get my mind off things. Unfortunately, with the current set of equipment and parts in the house, all I could come up with was another radio project. This for the A4 sitting idle in the driveway waiting on a bumper to be shipped from wherever.
This time, I think I will go all the way and have things molded from scratch for myself. Not everyone is as strict with the oem look as I am. It must look stock, so we must get the LEDs looking perfect match to that of the rest of the console.
But before that, we have to go bath and smell like people.

Yay, I have completed the install of the ICE, but … yes, there is a but. It lasted like three (3) days before it got all wrong.
Let me explain. All the wiring and grounding have been done to the usual twelve stage inspection (can’t have the car catching on fire, now), but the bezel we bought suck ass. This one; Volkswagen Mk4 Bezel; don’t buy it. It got all warped after a stay at the firm when I did an oil change. My baby was probably in the sun for an extended period of time without the sunshade one, but at least I know it can’t take lots of heat.
To fix this, we are having a new bezel made using aluminium. There will be lots of extras in this one. I would love to have access to the cd player in the dash, so we will be hooking that up in the design.
I am currently looking for someone to make the shit for me. Will have them for sale if they work out how I want them to.
Will post the picks of the broken bezel as soon as I find the camera (Berry 8700 does not have a camera).

Yah. I have been around the site, but neglected the input of information the front page
.
Well, let me update you guys. Was in a small fender bender, and my baby is currently at the doctor being patched up.
The AMP has been installed, and all wires correctly labelled for me (by me) for quick shortening, crimping and the hook up with the temporary bezel i got from MP3Car.com. It was a nice start, but not up to the heavy work and hot sun.
More pictures have been added to the Photo Gallery.
Well, that is all, I think. Anything I remember later on I will post.

I hooked up the audio from the PC to the 5v injector I made for the monsoon, nothing. I did the setup over with the audio going directly from the pc to the monsoon, it was mad soft
. I added my firewave into the mix and things got better, but the sound quality was in a mess.
Tomorrow Today, I’ll be going to find myself a nice four channel amplifier, this one to be precise, Alpine MRP-F450.
Here is to hoping I get it mad early, cause I have to go beach on Saturday.

I’ll be restarting the CarPC, this time with the Bora (1.6) British Sweetness that is VW. Yes folks, right hand drive.
Pictures will be uploaded for the entire build, including all the shit stuff we had to put in to get it to work.
OK, wish us luck. Look out for the pictures, and as detail a build writeup we can muster.

Everything is on the down low for the next couple of days as we try to get some parts in. Mostly connectors, but there is no reason to hack all the wires in my baby.
Still trying to get the usb hub to work only on external power, but the knife does not seem sharp enough (or i’m just weak; this could be the answer). Will have to wait till i get to the lab to burn through it.
Anywho, will keep you guys updated.
