Aeon Flux

Well, this turned out to be another movie about the potential controversy surrounding cloning; I guess George Bush is happy.

The movie is about a society once plagued by a disease that kills off most (99%) of the population. The remaining one percent is saved by a genius doctor, but at a price, they have all become sterile, sweet play … no :) . The doctor, upon finding this out has gotten approval to use cloning to keep the population alive until he has successfully come up with a cure for the new disease he has so graciously bestowed upon society. Unbeknown to him, his brother plots against his plans for evolution; you know the usual; getting rid of the wife, killing off the test subjects that have proven to indeed reproduce. He even took out those who managed to reproduce on their own.

A group of citizens, who have realized that cloning [to some extent] has been going on; I think they thought the government was playing with their minds; band together to killing the counselor [the dude trying to save their behind], the weapon of choice, Aeon, who in a pass life was the counselor’s wife, ahhh.

Well, I guess you can gather the rest of the story from their. All hell breaks loose, the DNA is lost to the flames, and life starts anew.

I like this show, it reminded me at first of “Equilibrium”, and then later on of “The Island”. I hope the writers have more ideas for the rest of the year, where it may come from, I know not, but I hope they find their way into the heads of those who write.
